I read an article this morning about cabin fever. Of course, it was associated with the winter months and being stuck inside. The only time I get any hint of cabin fever is in the hot summer time. When it is too hot to get our and hike the hills. Luckily, there is always aContinue reading “Cabin fever”

You’re going to love this
I’ve been crying on everyone’s shoulder the last couple of months about my injuries. It’s been working because I’ve got several messages form chukar hunters wishing me the best. I have two issues, my back and my leg. The leg is obvious and the solutions are obvious also. The back is a much different issue.Continue reading “You’re going to love this”
Bummed out dogs
Seems like Jake and Grady have become a little disgruntled with me lately. Evidently they are not too happy about the number of birds they are getting to mouth. They feel they have been doing their part, but there’s been a lot of slacking on my part. I have to admit to not keeping upContinue reading “Bummed out dogs”
Years past
One of those memories of the past showed up on Facebook today. Guess what I was doing on this date five years ago? Chukar hunting of course. Grady hadn’t been born yet, so it was just Jake and I. Here are the pictures I posted. I’m sure I was able to move on the mountainContinue reading “Years past”
Big Jake
Jake and I are getting near the end of our tenth year together chasing chukars. I can’t compliment this guy enough. Many of the guys I’ve met while hunting that were familiar with my blog know him better than me. Out of those ten years, I don’t know that I ever appreciated him more thanContinue reading “Big Jake”
Advantage chukar.
Quite often I hear about people slaughtering chukars when we get these snow storms. It might happen some but I have been fortunate enough not to ever see it. Since I started chukar hunting I have only once seen a winter so bad that that was even possible. Now I have seen road hunters chasingContinue reading “Advantage chukar.”
Christmas drive
I pray that all of you had a great and safe Christmas. Also, I hope it was blessed with family. We often talk about chukar hunting and dogs, but nothing is more important than family. And hopefully our four legged friends got to experience some of that Christmas cheer. I had a little more timeContinue reading “Christmas drive”
Sunny winter day
I don’t know how it could get much better than today. It was one of those hunts just for the exercise. Tomorrow’s the day with the back doctor, so I decided to get the dogs out and go as far as we could. The sun was shining and the temperature was 27 degrees with aContinue reading “Sunny winter day”
Merry Christmas
I just wanted to take this time to wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you for making this blog such a pleasure for me. Chukar hunting has been such a positive influence on me and keeps my mind straight. Trying to learn more about chukars, the country they live in and the dogsContinue reading “Merry Christmas”
Still here
Finally got into the leg doctor and the MRI showed a tear on the inside of my achilles which wasn’t as bad and may fix itself. if it gets worse or doesn’t heal, surgery will follow after the season ends. He said the tears (several) in my calf muscle actually took the pressure off myContinue reading “Still here”
